New to this: FD Idle question .

Hi. I have a first gen and an FD. My FD has some issues with high idles. It's usually from 1250-1400 rpm when it's cold or warm. Any ideas on what I can do because the idle adjustment screw isn't doing anything. I have the stock blow off valves and they are now atmospheric. Could that be the problem because that would create a vacuum leak?

I also have problems about my pulsation dampener. Any ideas on how to get to it and change it so my car doesn't catch on fire?

Unless your car is spewing fuel in the engine bay it will not catch fire!
Vacuum leaks can be found with starter fluid,But if you are Afraid now, just think how you would feel spraying Ether on your engine!

The FD in stock form has an Accelerated Warm-up System (AWS) which raises cold start idle immediately. Seems like when I still had it on my car it was a bit higher than 1250 though, so not sure that's what you're describing. If you tap the accelerator does idle drop?

As for a leaking FPD, either replace it with another FPD or Banzai Racing has a "how-to" on eliminating it... FD3s Pulsation Damper Elimination . Your call, but I would NOT drive the car until it's taken care of. It'll require you to remove the UIM and obviously the associated fuel rail. Kind of a PITA. If it were me doing it the first time, I'd take pictures during disassembly.

I tapped the throttle and that's when it went down to 1250-1400. When I cold start it, it goes up to 3000. I'm not running the car because the starter also took a dump haha. I have another dampener on the side. But after hearing about deleting the dampener, I just might do that instead

Oh yeah. The idle is still the same after the car was warmed up too

High idle is usually a result of a vacuum leak as misterstyx69 suggests. I'd try to check for a leak while the car is running rather than after you pull the manifold to fix the FPD. Just keep an extinguisher handy.
You might also pull the idle air control (IAC) off and hit it with some brake/carb cleaner. Not as likely it's the issue, but they can get dirty over time and it's only two 10mm bolts and a plug near the throttlebody. Careful of the gasket and it should come off with the IAC and be reusable. (See FSM).
FWIW, I'd figure in a new Upper Intake Manifold (UIM) to Lower Intake Manifold (LIM) gasket once you pull it off. They don't cost much. And be damn careful to follow FSM torque settings for those manifold bolts/studs. You don't want to break any.
