New from Arizona
My name is Dustin Goss, I'm 22 years old and own a 91 RX7 NA S5. I bought the car about 3 years ago and and after putting about $5000 into i got it to pass emissions and then the engine started loosing power. I was told that my compression was getting too low and that was my problem. The car would die when I turned on the AC (Arizona means AC is on all the time). Quit driving the car for about two years. I recently got sick of watching it sit there and decided to get it running again. A new battery, bled the clutch, added oil and coolant and the darn thing fired right up. Now i have the low coolant light on, found the sensor for that and the wire for the connector wasn't connected to anything... Gonna do a compression test after i get the light and buzzing to go off and see if maybe my compression is ok, if not I'm going to need a ton of advice with rebuilding the motor...
Here's hoping for the best...on the 1stgen's there's a specific dashpot that holds rpm up whenever the AC kicks on...dunno if the 2ndgen's have the same set-up but that may have been the actual culprit back in the day.
