Need instructions on how to put OEM carb back on
Need instructions on how to put OEM carb back on
So I bought a 83 rx7 and the guy I bought it off of was going to put a Weber but never got to doing that so now I want to put the stock carb back on but since he already had it off I'm completely lost
Congrats on your new car and welcome to the club.
Probably best to download the service manual for your RX7. It will provide you with step by step instructions along with proper torque specs needed for installation.
You might also try one of the local RX7 groups in your area, and maybe get one of the experienced guys to give you a hand.

welcome to the board.
the basic installation is fairly straightforward. depending on how much of the emissions the car still has, it may or may not get a little tedious, but as long as you can get your hands on a reference with photos, you should be fine.
if you're standing at the driver's side fender, you'll want to have the fuel lines facing you when you bolt it to the manifold. it's held down by four (4) 12 mm nuts. i find it best to go at them with the closed end of a wrench. i think 2 of them, again, depending on how much of the emissions stuff you still have, are a little tricky to get started, but doable.
once you have the carb bolted down, it's just a matter of doing the 2 cables (accelerator and choke). a reference will be needed here - get the FSM from Foxed.ca and i think they also have a carb manual there as well. i may or may not help. you'll see the slots for the cables from the driver's side fender POV. i think they are 12 mm as well, they have two nuts on them, one to adjust and one to lock. remove the lock nut and let it loose on the cable, then thread the cable on the throttle linkage. finally, once you put the threaded part through the slot, the rest should be intuitive on how to lock it.
there are two fuel lines and they are different sizes, so you should be able to figure which is which. install them. while you're installing lines, don't forget to install your MOP lines now, too.
at this point, the carb is basically functional, but again, you may have to plug some connectors and hoses beofe you put the air filter canister on. i can't tell you those from memory, but if you've followed me this far, then the rest will be cake.
hope this helps.
