Hi. I know I am not an rx-7 owner (though I've always wanted one) but I need help with knowing if a swap is possible, if so what parts I would need and where I should get them, and lastly a ballpark estimate of what you think the cost would be. I have a stock 2000 BMW 328i and am working on a project to turn it into an AWD hybrid. I need a smaller engine to do that however. So it's down to the 13b twin turbo or the 1.8 TSi from VW. The VW engine would be easier but I've always loved the sound and feel of the rotary engine. So if you all could help me that would be very much appreciated. Thank you!

Anythings' possible w time, patience, and money. That being said, you'll prob need some custom fabricated parts. I'm not sure anyone can give you a ballpark w something that requires a fair amount of that (Custom sub-frame and wiring to begin w). Condition of the 13b and whether or not it needs a rebuild will make the price range wildly as well. With the money you're spending you could honestly just get a very clean 335xi and have money to spare. At the end of the day, it's your money and car, do what you like. It'll definitely b a very interesting outcome if done, so good luck lol.

I would recommend you start by finding a reputable person/place who can do the custom fab, talking to them, then looking around for what your options for 13b's are. Then you'll have a very crude idea of what you'll be spending. Cheers m8
