Need help removing cold start assist/blower motor
I'm pulling out a bad engine to replace it out of my '88 RX7 convertible. I'm amazed how little work room there is! I'm working with instructions prepared by someone on this website (can't remember who) to supplement the Haynes manual.
I'm presently working on the areas to remove the wiring harness from inside the passenger compartment and through the firewall to the engine compartment.
The blower motor and its support framework needs to be removed. I found two 10mm support bolts but there is supposed to be a third which I can't locate. No diagrams show these bolts. Where is it?
In the engine compartment, I've removed the charcoal canister and the cruise control mechanism. I thought if I also removed the Cold Start Assist (CSA), I would gain plenty of room. The CSA is attached to the firewall with two 10mm bolts, I got the visible one removed despite the awkwardness. But the second bolt is directly behind the CSA with absolutely no work room. How does one get it out?
Thanks for your suggestions. Bill

No, you don't need to remove the blower motor. It helps a little, but is totally unnecessary.
The sub zero assist (the proper name, as there is another cold start system on the car) just pulls off of the bracket once you get the charcoal canister out of the way. Yank on it. Doesn't matter if you break it because it will not be going back on.
