Need help evaluating damage to rear quater panel
Hey there folks, I am in need of some expert advise.
The roof in our garage collapsed and fell ontop of my 93 rx7. It damaged the quater panel pretty bad all the way from the wheel arch to the top where it meets the hatch. The dent is pretty steep but this is the only part of the car that was damaged. Is it possible to fix and if so any input on how much I'm looking at spending to fix it is appreciated. This is very unfortunate as the car had no dents or prior body damage before this. Unfortunately because it happened at home, my insurance will not cover it.
Thanks for your time!

I work at an auction inspecting cars and giving damage prices. I would give that around 500 to repair. Just be cause thats around 200 for paint, and 300 for labor. But we just give out rough estimates for our shops

Thanks for the reply, I will try to get some quotes from local body shops. From the looks of it I take it the quarter panel wont need to be replaced? Hopefully they can pull the dent out.

No problem man! And it shouldn't be replaced. They should be able to bang that out easy. I know one of the companies that work with me are called "Dentwizards". They do a good job. Id contact them for a quote atleast

It's certainly repairable. But it will be a lot more than $500 at any reputable shop. $500 wouldn't even cover repair, let alone refinish and materials...unless you're planning on auctioning the car off and they can do a second rate job and never have to live with it. You pay for what you get.
Why bother posting for our estimates? Just take it to a couple GOOD collisions shops and get theirs. The car should be drivable and those are the estimates that matter.
And it doesn't make sense that your insurance company denied the claim because it happened at home...unless you simply had something like state-required liability and no comp coverage. In that case you chose poorly. Happening at home shouldn't matter.

^ Agreed. Not sure why being at home would matter for Insurance. Are you saying your home insurance carrier won't cover it or the car insurance carrier?
While that does look like a pretty nasty dent, a professional should have no problem popping that out and making it look as if it never happened. I also feel that $500 seems to be on the low end and would expect higher (hopefully not though).
