is it my trailing coils

Hey guys it's been a while since i last been on here on a rant. Like the headline states, I'm still havingissuesdriving the car. Took it to a performance shop who deals with rotaries and the guy told me I have an issue with my trailing coils. I heard they go bad a lot so before I spend money, how do I tell the coil is the issue?

With the car running (hot ) I can pull out the connectors to the trailing idk igniter?? And notice no change but still get that sputtering and angel of gas proof is not burning off the excess. Put them back on no change. With the spark plug wires off you can notice arcing not much more if you put a screwdriver close. Is thus normal?? If the coils were bad would the arc at all??

Try to do the same with leading and car will stall so that's good.

I read some article saying these problems may be a result from the crank angle sensor retarding the timing our super advancing it. Never touched my timing since i got the car idk how that could be but you never know. Any hints or tips would be greatly appreciated

Vehicle information needed before anyone can help you. Year/model/significant modifications.

Information on what the actual problem you're having will also be useful. Something about the engine sputtering?

Ignition coils rarely fail, and engine timing won't change unless you unbolt the CAS and rotate it.

Sorry for the lack of information. Yes it is a 1990. symptoms I'm feeling: I can only use 10-15% of the accelerator, any more than that the engine bog hard, rough idle(that dissent know id it wants to stay between 900 or 1200) back fires, feels like sputtering. Thus happens at any gear, and thought the entire rpm

Thanks misterstyx69

Modifications to note is the dbl throttle body are left open. Previous owner did it. So far everything else is stock as far as I know

The pre cats are gone i still have the main cat. I'll check my tps after work and set it to as close to 1k. Before I could only manage around .8 ohm maybe I'll lean or the air fuel mixture with the throttle body thing
