TN My RX7 in desperate need of help

Hi, I live in Shelbyville TN. I use to be in touch with an RX7 club based out of Smyrna and they worked on my car for me before but the email I have for them no longer works.

I lent my son the car a little over a year ago when he was without a vehicle. He never told me it needed a new water pump and he says he blew the freeze plugs. I have no clue. I've wanted to get it fixed for a while but I'm afraid it may have sat too long.

So my question is...do y'all think it's worth it to try to get her fixed and anyone know anyone around/near here that can do it? I think there's a club in Murfreesboro but I can't find how to contact them.

She has a bit of sentimental value to me so I don't want to sell her for parts if she's salvageable. I now own a Miata. I'm a Mazda gal all the way!

Thanks for any help anyone can give me =)

Not very often the freeze plugs come out because of overheating mostly from freezing and then usually only one plug will push out or (corrosion if only water has been used instead of antifreeze anti boil ) they sometimes rust out . It's no big deal to change freeze plugs most any mechanic could do it but they can be a bugger to get at . Someone here at the forum might live close to you that would offer at least to have a look at the little engine . Good luck Gerald m.

i would have it checked out before assuming it just needs freeze plugs, in some cases the internal passages can crack if he was running straight water in the engine during winter time.
