my first rx7
So I just bought my first rx7 it is an 86 model with no after market equipment (bone stock) it is the non turbo which sucks I know but with these cars having so many options as far as interchanging and swapping I'm very pleased with the purchase. I bought the car non running for 325 and can't get it started I've come to the conclusions that's its not getting fuel and the fuel pump wont kick on I need some advise on what to do to try and fix this prblem i would appreciate any feed back

If you spray starter fluid down the intake and crank it, will it start?
How old's the fuel pump? Have you tried to replace it? What are the voltages on the connector?

this is the type of car that you just can't try to start after a long time of sitting.
It needs to be "gone over" thoroughly or it bites you in the Butt every time.
Look up Aaron's Homepage and hit the "improper storage" info.
That may help you.
By the way the Pump does not run when just turn the Key to ON.It(the fuel pump) will run on Start position.
After the Car starts and the Air flow meter Flapper valve is moved, that is what sends the signal for the Pump to run.

Try to force the fuel pump on by jumping the yellow test connector at the passenger shock tower and turning the key to RUN. The pump should operate.
In normal circumstances the pump only operates during cranking and when the AFM sends a signal by closings a switch.
If the car has been sitting, as already indicated, then the entire fuel system will need to be overhauled.
