my 1983 fc rx7 has a high idle and is poping what do i do
hey my 1983 mazda fc rx7 has a high idle and it pops out the exughst when i rev it and then let it off quickly it might be bc it has headers only but idk much about rotary engines I'm much more knowledgeable about piston engines it also wont idle off choke i would like to know how to fix this all if i just need to clean the carb or what
This is the carb
This is the whole engine bay
This is the whole car
This is the headers
I have a vid of it running to but idk how to post it

it's not exactly clear, but in that photo, i don't see any signs of a header. it sort of looks like the stock manifold is still in place (i think i see the shielding???)
anyway, are you saying that there is no piping or mufflers after the point? if so, then yes, it's going to pop (in addition to being loud). you will want to have an exhaust system in place, then it won't pop - maybe on the odd occasion of full throttle and let off.
