multi stud wheel fitment question.
Hi, I'll try to keep this short.
I recently bought myself an rx-7 GSL-SE and after searching for aftermarket wheels
to fit on the car i realized they had a different stud pattern to all other types of 1st gen rx-7's.
I have found a wicked set of genuine Riken 15x7.5 mesh wheels that i love and look
mean on the series 2 they are on and he's asking $350 for them.
The only problem is they are a 4x110 stud pattern and aren't compatible with my gsl-se hubs being 4x114.3.
I looked on the inside/back of the wheel at the mounting surface and it doesn't seem like i could drill more holes to make them 4x114.3 because there is a lack of material surrounding the original mounting holes drilled.
i will attach a photo to further explain what i mean by the lack of material.
apart from converting my wheel hubs from a 4x114.3 to 4x110 with adapters or changing the hubs/axles i would like to know if there are any alternative methods of being able to fit these wheels.
Thanks, from Jozey.

You basically just laid out the alternatives. Either have the wheels welded up and machined for new holes, or have the hubs on the car redrilled for a new pattern.

Thanks Aaron.
would i have to find somebody that will weld in the 4x110 holes themselfs and fill them, then drill new 4x114.3 holes afterward?
i think that would be the cheaper alternative instead of converting the studs to 4x110.
If i do buy these riken wheels, they're in good condition, do you think $400 is a good price?
The seller told me that people usually pay about 600 for a set.
The downside is they need new tires and aren't going to fit on my car, yet..
thanks

So, just to update this..
I was researching this issue on the internet and sound a video on youtube about 'wobble bolts', also known as variation bolts.
They seemed to do exactly what i needed them to do and they have a loose taper that freely wobbles around the threaded bolt as seen in this photo i've provided.
I got a set of them through Serpent AutoSports from a good guy named Charlie Dimarco.
For anyone that needs some, here is the link to the website that i ordered them from, just make sure you specify the correct thread diameter, length and thread pitch ect.
They are the most simple and most reasonable way i could get the results i was after.

From what i have read wobble bolts only work on hub centric vehicles and wheels. Something ro keep in mind. Might want to look into having the hubs re-drilled. Also are you dead set on this particular set of wheels? There are alot of 4x114.3 wheels out there. Another option some people go with is adapters. Just some thoughts.

Yeah, thanks for reminding me!
I made some spacers on a lathe that are a tap-fit into the wheels center bore and mount the wheels spigot and make the wheel sit in the center.
The wheels are stamped '4x114.3' but they are definitely 4x110 because they don't fit on my -se and they came off of an 82 gs rx7.
I got the 82 rx7 for parts and i like the wheels and they really suit the car. They are a 2 piece wheel and look like an enkei 92 but they are older and more rare so i really want to stick with these wheels but if i have to compromise safety i will gladly fit my original wheels back onto the car.

You can also get bolt-on lug pattern adapters, but they also act as spacers around an inch thick. This will effectively lower the offset, but might not be too bad depending on current offset.
