Mine is an 1984, but how far back can i go to find a match?

Check American ebay, there is a few people selling the trim your looking for, alot cheaper than black dragon.

 

A lot of these parts you can find on ebay. I did a two second search and came up with this

for the first gens you can go from 81 to 85 almost all the parts are the same

 

Doesn't it go all the way back to 79?

 

79-85 for most parts, but many changes beginning in '81
