Metal expanding/contracting

Posting this in noob section because I feel it's too bad of a question for normal 3rd gen. Not sure if its normal but on previous cars I've had you get the metal noise right after shutdown. What happens with me is I get the noise probably every 10-30 mins and even after the car has been shutdown for a hour or more.

If its been down for a hour it starts happening less often. I just can't imagine metal expanding still after an hour or so. Car runs great, I'm sure it's nothing to worry about and just metal doing its thing.

you mean like a ting, ping, ping of the metal cooling?
I would say that is normal.Turbo stuff does get a lot of heat thrown at it.

Yeah that pinging, It use to be way worst until I took out the precat. I believe its normal too, I just never heard it still pinging a hour or so later on other cars, But then again none of them have a complex twin turbo system lol.
