Mazdaspeed exhaust

Hi everyone,

On my 1996 fd, I have a mazdaspeed exhaust. I don't know if it is an axle back or cat back. However, I got it with the car, but I don't have a reciept for it, which I need to register my car. Could anyone provide me with such a reciept or maybe link me to a website that sells that exhaust. Thanks in advance.

.........what? What kind of requirement is that? It's part of the car. Just say It was a dealer option or something. What country are you in?

I'l from Luxembourg, having a reciept for every modification makes registering the car a lot easier. But I'll try telling them it was a dealers option, as rx7s are very rare here

It was a dealer supplied option. Sold by MAZDA thru dealerships and I believe CARB (emissions) compliant. You might check to see if there’s a CARB number somewhere on it that might impress the authorities. Pretty certain the exhaust is no longer available thru MAZDA unless some dealership has a forgotten one on the shelf.

Oh that's great ! But now I have more questions. Was the mazdaspeed wing also a dealer's option? Furthermore, I found a dealer's option catalog for the 96 fd on the forum, but it didn't include the the mazdaspeed exhaust. Does someone have it? (The catalog)

This exhaust and any other mazdaspeed part was a dealer option in japan only. We didnt get any cool stuff in the 90s. The exhaust has no CARB number for it. Is this a RHD car?

I don’t think anyone can help you with a receipt. Do you just need to prove it’s a Mazda part?

There was a Mazdaspeed catalog with part numbers and pictures. Try searching with google, etc.

here the muffler pics and pics of the aero kit so you can show the stuff was dealer options. The last pic is the number to the office's if they want to call and verify but im sure they are closed decades ago lol. Mazdaspeed and mazda were not the same company till maybe the early 2000s. Before that there were there own race team but super official kinda like mugen and spoon with honda and in alot of dealerships would sell there parts to be installed in japan only. The only stuff in official mazda catalogs are leather MS shift ***** and thats about it. I think some got the MS carbon look dash like the spirit R or the the RZ. But no full blown official stuff. MS actually got all there parts from companies all over and slapped there name on it. Momo makes the steering wheels. The exhaust is made by yumex. The sway bars are swift. beat rush makes the strut bars and so on and so forth. After the early 2000s mazda absorbed MS and the race team they once were was gone. The mazdaspeed name has really just been a name for a sportier turbo version of cars and license plate frames. The MS protégé is probably the last real MS style car. Meaning other companies parts were used with the name still advertised. newer cars after it just have mazda parts that are the same as its regular version just stiffer like springs and bushings.
