Unhappy MAJOR '84 GS Wiring problem

Hey guys, so I got an '84 GS recently, and have been trying to get everything on it working. The PO really did a terrible wiring job, and several electrical things don't work. The list of non-working items includes:
- Gauge lights
- Clock
- Radio Amplifiers
- Hazard Lights
- Center Console Lights (Ashtray Light, A/C **** Light, etc.)

I took the clock out and hooked it up to a 12v DC power source, and it comes on and works properly. So this tells me it's a wiring problem somewhere. However, The light behind the radio comes on in the car. I've looked again and again at the wiring diagram, and my problem makes sense: All of these things come from the main front wiring harness. However, I'm confused since some things (Such as the lights behind the clock, and the tape deck itself playing tapes) Work, while other things (Such as the actual amp/speaker side of the audio system) don't work. I've been working on this for weeks and its driving me insane. Any help would be amazing, Thanks y'all
