Low compression cold
93 rx7 5spd. gutted downpipe, act flywheel, counterweight, everything else cosmetic.
was driving around for a few hrs last week went
into boost for a second, and then bam the car
starts idling like crap. Vacuum jumps from 8-17 psi rapidly,
fuel pressure was shaky, crappy acceleration you know
all the good stuff. After some diagnostic work over a few days
I tried to restart and i got it to idle at 500rpms
very briefly with no way to accelerate, after
several hundred attempts to start.
Now car will completely not start. Checked compression
with piston tester no valve core. Rear rotor had
three even bounces to 99. Front rotor had 1 bounce
to 80 and 2 bounces to 0. yes i said 0. this was a
cold compression test since i could not restart.
I highly doubt its a stuck apex seal because it happened
while driving. So my question is do i bother with atf fluid
or do i just pull the motor and tear it down to inspect the
rotor and housing?
thanks for all your help peace
