Loud clanking from pulley/belts 94 FD

Can anyone help me diagnose and solve this? I already replaced and belt and pulley and it’s gotten progressively worse. I just woke up today to take it for some upgrades and it made this loud clanking from the belt/pulley area. Any help/suggestions are greatly appreciated!

i suggest removing the belt and restarting it to see if the noise goes away.

I've never worked on an FD engine but isn't there a tensioner-wheel to keep the belt on? If so, how could it be "too-tight"? My first thought was that something pulley-driven was wearing out, like the tensioner wheel, the WP or the alternator.

also never worked on an FD but on my FC the power steering belt is tensioned by a bolt and the alternator needs to be held in tension when you tighten the clamping bolt. it would be really easy to over tighten the power steering belt and not as easy but still possible to overdo the alternator.

yeah there’s two bolts on either side on my FD. They can throw the tension off depending on how high/low u bolt em on
