PA List of technical questions

So i have been driving my 88 SE for about 2 weeks now and had my parts store order me pads and rotors all the way around, as well as all 4 drive belts. Between both of my jobs I haven't had much of a chance to go poking around the engine bay yet, but with all 4 drive belts set up the way they are, is it easy to "delete" different options?

Say I wanted to pull out my beat up non working AC compressor. Could I then just not put that belt on the pulley and go about removing the condensor and lines?

Also, I didn't even look but how are the belts tensioned? I am honestly just being lazy. 2 jobs :/

Yes,you can do that.
The tensioners are held In by the 17mm bolt in the Center of the Pulley and a 10mm long bolt.
Crack the 17mm to loosen the pulley on the bracket, and then use the 10mm to loosen the Belt off the pulley. It has a clamp to the frame,so you may want to use your noodle on that. The battery tray bolts get pretty crappy after sitting there fr 20 years, and the tray itself is brittle.Sacrifice the tray..or get the bolts out because you got lucky,or Cut the hose!
You can pretty well see what you have to take off in the engine bay.Except the hose that leads under the Battery tray to the Cooler.
The Compressor is a fun thing to get out too,but not complicated, just tedious!
I did the same thing you are asking.I left the Interior stuff IN the car(under the dash). The only thing that shows now is the hose connectors at the Firewall in the Engine bay.
Have fun..work up a sweat..lol!
