Left brake light dim/inop

Left brake light dim/inop
With headlights off the left rear tail lamp is dim. With headlamps on left tail lamp goes completely out when pressing the brake. Replaced all the bulbs and checked harness and sockets, all ok. Imagine it's a bad ground somewhere. Any ideas where to check? 1994 rx7
