PA Launch Control

I recently got my Turbo II back from the shop, I have a Microtech, its fully tuned pushing 414hp on pump gas at 15PSI. I had them install the switch for launch control, has anyone used this and is it safe to do? I don't want to use it all the time just for track purposes.

If it matters the motor is a full bridge.

My understanding with EMS launch control is that it will retard the timing when it reaches your pre-set RPM in order for you to hold the gas pedal down and launch without worrying of over revving past your optimal RPM....

As long as the Microtech is working and tuned properly, there should be no reason this will harm the engine.

Its basically a two-step, it's available on the Microtech. I hold the button and floor the gar it builds boost before launching.

Thanks jjcobm, my tuner recommended not too, but I just wanted some one else's opinion

The only thing I can see being damaged is drivetrain if done a lot and not launched carefully...
