am hopeing this wont need a new engine but if it does I am ok.

Got a 83 badged as a limited edition but paint under the silver isnt silver. It will idle with choke fully out at about 4000 rpm ,, had a burning smell to it which could be crap burning off!!

wont idle if choke is in ,, and its in the 60's or 70's here today.


Also my head lights will not turn on ,, they raise and parking lights come on and can flass highbeams but thats as far as I can get light out of the bulbs.


Just starting my list of things to fix and replace / repair !!! know I need a hood prop rod , space tire , headlights , get it running propper , new tires, and a lot of cleaning

 

if it's sat for any amount of time, you'll need to tear the carburetor down and clean the goo out of it, there are quite a few threads on here on how to do it, and there are general videos on sites like youtube.

Just go to google and type in "rx7 carb clean" and start clicking results.

Well it will start and idle with choke out ,, one the choke warms up it dies ,, Has no power ,, if I can find a long enough compression tester I'll check compression. Right now I am looking at finding a shop or just start getting the funds to get a new engine.

Big thing is deciding if I want to go stock or ??? not looking to race just a fun little daily driver. Racing will jeopardize my CDL unless its a track

 

Only runs with choke out because carb is clogged. Clean the carb first. Thank ethanol later.

 

the car is going to the shop in the AM going to have the compression checked first!!! no sense chaseing things if the compression is bad ,, if it is then engine time !!!

 

well lets hope its bad then you can get a new engine! lol jk well thats what i always hope for
