just bout fc, what part should i look over??

Hey just picked up a fc vert.. and I was just wondering what are some part I should look over and replace cause I'm gunna give it a tune up.. like what's common on fcs that I should take a look at...ha ill probly have a post later on all the problems I have.. ill take ne suggestions on what I should take a look at..

The fuel pulsation damper (PD) may be the original, which could mean a fuel leak. That's a good place to check first, but you should probably give the whole engine bay a once over. Take a look through the 2nd gen FAQ and 2nd gen archive section to read up on things every owner should know about.

Tune-up wise I would replace the spark plugs and all rubber hoses/lines to start.

alright thanks man, yeah im new to the rotary so didnt know what exactly i should be checkin over to make sure im all okay!

Besides what was already mentioned, I recommend going to the service manual links in the 2Gen FAQ and performing the 60,000 mile maintenance checks listed in Chapter 0. After that, follow the Unique Driving Conditions schedule. Normal oil burn is 1 qt per 3,000 miles.

The vert top tends to tear where it attaches to the car over the rear wheel wells. If you need a new vert top, the Robbins brand is the highest quality. You can use either the 88 top without the Rainguards or the 89-92 top with the Rainguards. Sometimes you can order a top cheaper on the internet than your local dealers can get it from their middle-men. Local shops charge about $400 to install it, and I would not recommend that you try it yourself unless you are really good at sewing and are not easily frustrated.

RaggTopp and 303 make good vert top cleaners and protectant that help keep the top from ripping. You are more likely to find them at boating stores, although sometimes they are sold at auto parts stores, sporting goods stores, or department stores. Internet shipping is usually a little on the expensive side, so a local purchase may be a better idea.

wow man thanks alot for the info, yeah my top is horrible i def. need to get a new one and probly look into that stuff that protects it from ripping! thanks again!
