Jdm downpipe exhaust options

My 93 (stock except apexi intake and exhaust as far as the motor) currently has a JDM downpipe (no precat) and a straight 2.5" pipe back to a no name dual tip muffler. It currently has a pretty perfect 10-8-10 boost pattern and no sign of exceeding 10psi (no apparent boost creep). The exhaust is loud for my taste and I was looking at a resonated midpipe and a better made muffler. I am guessing the JDM downpipe is currently restrictive enough that its not causing creep. Was wondering if the normal midpipe + catbacks will fit or if the jdm downpipe is an odd length or something. I will probably port the wastegate and crank up the boost eventually (I have an Adaptronics and bigger injectors and fuel pump to drop in just trying to go slow) but for now I want a quieter exhaust.

Oh the muffler on there makes a horrible whistle when you get on it hard which is another reason i want rid of it. Where the two tips come together its like a sharp point splitter and it will split your ears if you have it on a lift and stand under it while your buddy revs it...... Ask me how I know..
