I'm not really sure if this fits under the technical area and if it doesn't i apologize but i had a question on the door panels. the material itself is still good but when the car was sitting before i got it one of the windows were down and the wood/fibrous backing material on the doors is warped and somewhat deteriorating.

My question is what exactly is this material and where would be a possible place to get some. I'm tearing every part of the interior out that i can and washing the living crap out of it, and i mean living in the literal sense

 

It's a standard backing board available from any auto upholstery shop. Just call a local body shop and ask where they buy their stuff.

Keep in mind that replacing it involves disassembling the entire door panel and then rebuilding it onto the new board after you have cut all the appropriate holes and such.

 

thanks man, i ran out of stuff to do last night so i got both doors tore down. hopefully i can get some by this weekend and get some before and after pics.
