OR Interesting Fuel light Problem

Ok, so I was running low on fuel today. Normally when I'm low the fuel light will pulse, on and off then eventually come on steady.

This time it never pulsed, it just eventually came on steady.

So I pulled in the the nearest gas station, filled the tank with regular, started the car and the gauge rose to full but the fuel light stayed on. Thinking it just needed a second I drove off, 15 min later when I reached my destination it was still on. Then still on when I came out and started it again.

I have never had this issue before, and only found 1 thread where some one had a similar problem on another forum. No one gave a solution.

So I need to figure out why my Fuel light is on yet the tank is full and the Fuel gauge is working. Are there separate sending units for the gauge and the light, or what could cause that?

Could be the sending unit itself is bad, or something is inhibiting it from moving/going to the "not low fuel" posistion. Weird though!
