First of all, welcome to the board.

Since this is not a technical question, I am going to have to move this thread. So at the very least, I will need to know what generation Rx-7 you have so I can put the thread in the correct General Discussion forum. It also would not hurt for you to make an introduction thread to tell us who you are, your history, how you got seduced by these sirens.

I'm not an insurance agent, but these are the variables that I can think of off-hand. What's good for you isn't likely going to be good for me and vice versa. Go talk to some agents.

*Driving history, tickets?
*Accident history
*Age
*Gender
*Place of residence, region; State
*Year, make and model of car
*Agreed value or traditional policy
*Use of car, estimated miles driven annually. Other cars owned or registered in your name?
*Desired coverage...collision, liability-only?...comprehensive
*Desired deductibles
*Payment/credit history/credit score

If it is for your RX-7, I bundled mine in with my other vehicle with Nationwide. I'm paying ~$43/mth for $500 deducts on it.

It would follow up what Sgtblue said with the following: Is it a daily driver? Is it your primary vehicle? If it isn't, then I would strongly recommend looking at Hagerty Insurance. They will set you up with an agreed up value policy (typically three different ones depending on the condition of the car). If you're not putting a lot of miles on it (say less than 2500/year), this could be a good value for you. Also, look into license plates. If the car is old enough to achieve "collector car" status in your state, then you might pay a one time fee or a much lower fee/year compared to a standard car, which could wind up saving you a substantial amount of money. In my state (Wisconsin) there is also a stipulation if you have collector plates that the car cannot be on the road during the entire month of January. Since I mothball my car in the winter, this is not a hardship for me.

My premium from Progressive (it is the 3rd car on my policy) was about $54/month. That was $500 broad form collision, roadside, and $100 comprehensive.

For GEICO I pay $38 a month with a $500 deduct for comprehensive and collision. It was slightly more the year I used my RX-7 as a daily driver.

The variables listed above by everyone else plays a large factor on your premiums.

Definitely check with hagerty. From what I remember you also need to have at least 10 years of driving history to be approved for hagerty insurance though. That was a couple of years ago when that was the case so i'm not sure if that's the same or if that's applicable to your situation though.

^The OP is 23 years old. Presumably this is his DD that we're talking about. Hagerty will want to see at least one other car conventionally registered and insured.
