MA Importing from Japan

has anyone ever imported a rx-7 from japan? or know anyone who has?

im thinking of importing one but I dont know how much it would cost me.

and if anyone knows any importing websites would you kindly give me some.

go to a local jdm shop, they could help you out in getting one, but have to pay the extra fees for them bringing it over.

Importing an FD is a very risky proposition because it's illegal.
Customs will seize and crush it if they find it. By that point you've already paid for it and you lose.

You will need to fraudulently file the paperwork to get it in. Many states have regs against grey market import cars. The importing company will not protect you from this.

People have talked about what it takes to import 100% legally, and estimated over a hundred grand plus a few cars for crash testing.

IMHO, the biggest risk of all is if you are in an accident and hurt yourself or someone else, I expect the insurance provider will walk away and pay nothing.

So if you really really want a RHD import I recommend you move to Canada where it's legal. In the US stick with LHD's.
