Ignition Switch to Keyless Push Start
Hey im planning on buying a 1991 Rx7 N/a and their are a few problemes, the car was previously stolen and recovered by insurance company, and whoever stole it destroyed the ignition switch, (the car starts with a screw driver).
Now my question is, would it be possible to use a switch and a button as a starter without a key at all?

Yes, but I doubt it would be possible to get the insurance company to cover you after your car gets stolen because it didn't require a key to start.
No seriously you have lock, accessory, power, and starter controlled from the ignition switch. Sure some cars have push button starter bling, but you still use a key, and the same would be true here. Might as well just fix it, or drive around with a screwdriver hanging off the steering column for lolz.

Doesn't Mazda Trix have it for cheaper?
On your S5 there should be a plug which mates into the pigtail harness of the ignition switch that only has one wire. This wire would be the starter wire. On an S4 it is Black/Red and is probably the same on an S5. There is a two wire plug that connects to the ignition switch also, which has two wires and they are Black/White and a solid Black wire. The Black wire would be mated to the start button and the other side of the start button would be the Black/Red wire. The constant voltage on the solid Black wire would transfer over to the B/R wire running to the starter to turn the engine over. The B/W wire in the two wire plug is for the IG1 fuses which are necessary to start the car. Not sure if your wiring redone has already taken this into account. If not then there would need to be a cut off switch w/two positions (one being on and the other off) and the solid Black wire would need to connect to one side of the cut off switch and the other side connected to the B/W wire. So when the car is to be started the voltage on the solid Black wire would be passed onto the B/W wire w/the cut off switch to the on position. The cutoff switch would be turned to the on position first and then the start button would be depressed and this should cause the engine to turn over and start. There is another two wire ignition switch plug housing a Blue wire for Accessories and the other wire is Black/Red for the IG2 fuses that power up other items to the car not necessary for starting purposes.
Remember, the wires I illustrated are part of the Front harness and not the pigtail wires that are soldered to the ignition switch itself. The Front harness plugs into the pigtail harness and the Front harness wires are the ones to focus on.
