Ignition and keyhole light won't turn off
So the keyhole illumination and ignition light stay on all the time on my S5. I think its draining my battery as I had to change it recently. I tried resolder the joints on the CPU but it didn't seem to do anything (although my solder skills are probably not very good) but I don't think this is the problem since the wiring diagram shows that the seatbelt buzzer is also controlled by the same plug and I haven't had a problem with the buzzer.
I took the door handle out and everything looks okay. It looks like there's a switch that's activated by the door handle which I'm assuming controls these lights and it doesn't seem to be stuck but I'm not exactly sure what I should be looking for.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
I'm mostly concerned with the battery drain so if I can't fix the problem and I cut the wires to either the switch or the light bulb would this eliminate the battery drain?

No takers on a suggestion to this old post? I just realized this when I went by my car last night with the charger on - could not figure out why my battery is always draining...

Do an amperage draw test on the car...undo the steering column surround,take the bulb out and do an amperage draw test again.
If the bulb is drawing current then that circuit is being activated somehow.The easy fix is to remove the bulb.

If you do the test and are drawing anything above 40-50Ma go to the fuse box and starting from the top pull one fuse out and retest the battery.....keep doing this till you remove a fuse and that current draw on the battery disappears. Now you have found which circuit is causing the drain.
Get the FSM wiring manua out (plenty online) and find out what's on that circuit then you'll have to test everything see which of these is draining current. Usually if everything on the same circuit is drawing it'll be a short or break that is affecting that section of the wiring harness.

what reading
Is this a voltage reading or ohm reading that you are looking for on the yellow wire?
need this with door open - or after door has been closed for a certain amount of time?
