Idle Problems Problems
My name is Reggie, I have a 1982 RX7. Could someone please tell me how to increase the idle on this engine. The engine is a 12A. I new to the RX7 world and just love this little car. The only way I can keep it running is to remain in the drivers seat with my foot on the gas.

I have the same problem with my '81 rx7
I am no expert but it could have something to do with the carburetor.
I am planning on rebuilding the stock carburetor on it. Hopefully that will solve the problem

try to tighten your throttle cable or the bracket it's hooked to. or try to turn up your idle screw. my first gen has a webber so i'm not sure what the stock first gens intake is like, but my second gen has a screw on the front that i can tighten to raise it. i guess that's the tps i keep reading about. make sure it's not a fuel problem. check your lines for pressure, take off and blow out your injectors like i did. used the air compressor to blow em out from the tips. once it blew through, i put em back and mine runs good now. make sure your air filter is good too. and that your exhaust isn't stopped up. good luck dude. hope this helps.
