Idle Control valve

I need a new idle up valve or uptick valve for an '86 rx7 (non turbo). The value is damaged so idle is way too low. I've looked everywhere and I can't find one, do you guys have any idea how I can get one?

How did you determine that it is damaged? There is more than one cause for a low idle.

How I determined it was damaged.

The throttle started bouncing when cold. I took the car to a mechanic. We then found out that the fuel filter hadn't been changed when I took it into the dealership for a tune up (grrr Mazda). They then cleaned up the system and got the gunk out that had been allowed to build up due to the bad fuel filter. It turns out the problem with the fuel filter was masking a problem with the air intake, so that got diagnosed. The Idle valve damaged. The mechanic couldn't find a new idle uptick valve however, so I am asking you guys if you know where I can get one.

(this is for an '86 non-turbo rx-7)

uptick valve is not a term that is used to describe anything in the Rx-7 idle control system

there is a bypass air control valve (BAC) which is another term for an idle control valve. you can get a working used one off the classifieds. the turbo and non turbo valves are slightly different, so are the 86-88 vs the 89-91

I'd get a second opinion. Dealers do terrible jobs on this car. I'd probably get a second opinion. Consider making an appt with RX7.com at Garland, TX.
