Unhappy I have an electrical problem and am completely out of ideas

Okay I bought an 86 rx7 its pretty much stock except for an intake that was already on there. Okay so one day I was leaving my drive way after I let it warm up and it started bucking and mis firing and the voltage gauge and the tachometer were bouncing around so I figured I had an electrical issue wether it be low or weak voltage or a wire was grounding out somewhere. Eventually me and a friend figured out the O2 sensor wire was grounding out messing up the readings.

Also a couple weird things were happening like if I turn on my headlights my car shut but it only happened before we unplugged the O2 sensor.

Another thing is my heat controls the switches work but the buttons to switch between face, feet, etc. do not and my windsheild wipers only work on the medium setting and sometimes if I have the heat on the tempature gauge says im heating up when its not and the blower fan works whenever it choses.

Okay so it ran okay for about aweek I installed an aftermarket tempature gauge(not electronic) and I fixed the O2 sensor wire and plugged it back in and it was running good. So I drove home and it seemed fine (about 20 miles all highway) then went to walmart and when I was on my way the car hesitated a couple times but when I brought the revs up itseemed fine(headlights on)so got to walmart and came back out and car started kinda hard and was hesitateing and backfiring volt gauge incar stock one read 12 volts aftermarket one little bit higher probably around 13 so I thought it was that O2 sensor wire but nothing. So tried starting again barelly got it too volt gaige was bouncing alittle right about 8 to 10 volts so I took a reading off thebattery with a multimeter and got 13.6 so got it towed.

Just tried to start it and friend noticed something arcing on the mechanical temp gauge line(copper wire with spring around it) so insulated it. Started it back up and atill misfiring like crazy and bacfiring and headlights instantly turn car off and volt gauge reads 8 volts. Repeated loonking for shorts and now car won't even start please help this is my daily driver I'm completely out of ideas and ohh alternator, battery, plugs, wires, all that is brand new any ideas at all please dont hesitate and thank you in advance

Inspect inspect inspect! Look for crossed or exposed wires, unintentional grounds, check all your fuses and relays, etc. et.c..

Thank you and I have I already checked all fuses and wires in the engine bay tonight I'm going to rip the dash out and checking all the wires in there cause current is getting to the firewall and arcing to the mechanical temp gauge to ground itself

This may sound dumb but, check your ground wires starting from the battery and anywhere else. then check that your alternator has a good ground as well (rust can cause bad grounding) also make sure your alt is good...
