How to change the fuel filter?
Hey guys I was searching around the forums for yearly maint stuff and the fuel fitler came up a few times.
Is there any detailed walk throughs for this or is it as simple as getting it off, and replacing it? I looked and looked couldn't find one. I found a few vauge ones, and also seen a vid on youtube as to where to find it ( by the diff on the passenger side of the car at the rear of the car wedged up in a some god awful spot lol)
Also how many hoses do I have to remove and such, im a very visual person so just pure walkthroughs in text no pics are hard for me :/
And lastly is there an aftermarket fuel fitler anyone would recommend? And I had my fuel pump changed to a diff one than stock would the fitler have been changed at that time?
Help always appreciated.

i can't post any pics but I can tell you the fuel filter on mine is right next to the starter (which is on the trans) underneath the driverside of the car. follow the fuel lines as they go up into the engine compartment.
to take off simply remove the rubber hoses which connect to the filter. you may want to remove the starter to get some clearance. before you attempt anything you will have to relieve the fuel pressure though. remove the gas cap and the fuel pump fuse and start it until it dies. you may want to check a haynes manual to be sure.

I'd stay with the stock filter.
Good luck.

I have a 93 and changed the fuel filter and it's a major arm contorsion project.
If you have a lift it's much easier than jack stands laying on the ground like I did.
The filter is in the rear above the differential. There are two hoses and in and out on the filter. Make sure the in hose is coming from the tank and the out hose goes to the engine. It is very hard to see when your arms are in the way so it does take some touch and feeling to the it on and tha ends clamped. The manual I have was somewhat vague but get a light over the diff and you can see it.
Have fun.
