I stopped looking up VINs as the site I was using had a Russian URL. They required that you click through for each search. Also they offered free downloads of manuals, which means they would have access to you hard drive for a long time.

Moreover, they had set up searches for all kinds of cars, by guessing the range of the possible serial numbers.

This all could be legit because the Russians have long been buyers of used Japanese cars and they need manufacrur date for there import pusposes.

Other search engines on other sites lead back to the Russian URL.

So be careful.

I think Akagi has another source.

Good luck!

I am not searching any more, because I am not sure the site I was using was secure. Akagi might have a different source.

Apologies for the zombie-ish update, but Naniwa is the old name for Osaka. I'm not exactly sure of the difference between the Naniwa Version and a regular Type R2, but I have a feeling it's got slightly different equipment. Only 250 were made of them, so they're quite rare.

And yes, I still do Build Sheets between sessions on the FD Wiring Bible.
