Take some towels or blankets, and wedge them under the rear corners of the hood that is on the car now. Carefully remove the 2 bolts (per side) that hold the hinge onto the hood, and lower it onto the blankets. Now get a friend to take a side, remove the hood prop, and take the old hood out.

To re-install a hood, place the hood on the blankets and put the hood prop up again. Have the friend steady the hood, while you line up the hinge and re-install the bolts. There is a plastic piece on the inside of the hood that likes to fall out of place, so you may need to stick a thin screwdriver in to get it back. Install all four bolts finger tight, then tighten with the hinge as close to the original position as possible. Slowly lower the hood, and check if it needs to be adjusted to fix uneven gaps, etc...

Also to note:
Aluminum hoods and Steel hoods had differant latches. If installing the aluminum T2 hood onto a car that was equipped with a steel hood, the aluminum hood will take greater effort to latch than if you had the corresponding latch made specifically for the aluminum hoods (hint: ALL convertables had aluminum hoods). To tell if you have a steel or aluminum hood latch assembly, there is a 'counterweight' that is on the aluminum latches, the steel hood latches do not have this bit of metal.

This is especially insightful for when installing a fiberglass or carbon fiber hood, as the steel hood latches will crack and break the latch mounts on the aftermarket hoods. The aluminum hood latch will be more forgiving.

Don't forget to detach the windshield spray nozzles at the hose(you can detach at the corner of the Inside of the hood).Otherwise you will rip the hose right out of the car when you pull the hood off!
