HKS twin power causing problems?
Ok so im picking up my new FD this week. It already has a Greddy single turbo kit. The previous owner installed the twin power ignition and it seems to be causing problems with the idle. Start up is fine but aparantly at full operating temp the car doesnt idle very well. It does have a streetport and before the twin power, the car idled just fine. Can anyone tell me some common issues and/or fixes for what might be causing the problem?
Comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Ryan

I just posted this in another thread and the same applies to you.
What you are having is idle issues. There are many threads on the topic. The typical causes are:
- The Throttle Body butterflies are out of adjustment. There are 3 spots to adjust the throttle body mechanical settings. If one or more of them are out of adjustment, it will affect idle airflow and also the Throttle Position Sensor
- The Throttle Positions Sensor is out of adjustment
- The Dashpot is out of adjustment or not working properly in general.
There are a few threads in the 3rd gen FAQ that can help you look into this issue. Check out these links.

Also check the Dashpot:

In your case, it could also be the tuning. I'm assuming you are running a Power FC or something of that sort if you are running a single turbo setup.

yes it does have a power fc. Ill be picking the car up on friday or saturday and thats when my dad, im in Ak not with the car, will be taking a look at it. Since the twin power was installed, the car has had problems. Thank you for the links. Im going to learn myself something and try to take care of it myself. Thanks again you might hear from me again.
Well, uninstall the Twin Power and verify that the problem goes away.
Its literally 2-3 minutes to unplug the Twin Power harness adaptor from the stock wiring and re-connect the stock harness.
If for some reason the current owner did not use the harness adaptor and attempted to splice the wires somehow, then you know the problem is the "nut behind the wheel" so to speak.
At that point, you need to carefully inspect whatever else might have been installed poorly or incorrectly.
