My fc s5 na is stuck.... Not dead. But generating a ton of voltage. All dash lights came on (kinda like when you snap your alt belt or turn the ignition to the on position) and the voltage meter goes all the way up.... So does oil pressure..... I left the car at my brothers... Its about a 15 min drive. Im in florida and its been raining non stop for almost 5 days. Any idea as to what might be wrong here? Only thing ive done to it lately is put an o2 sensor it never had and that was 3 days ago... Drove fine all those 3 days... Then i disconnected it when it started doing this thinking something in the wiring may be wrong but nothing..... Would i ruin the engine driving it like that? High oil pressure and high voltage readings?? HELP!!

 

Test to see how many volts are at the battery when this issue is happening.. Use a multi meter and should be around 14.2 - 14.5 volts when the vehicle is idling. If it's higher then could be faulty voltage regulator. Damage can be caused to the battery from excessive voltage.

 

Would it be possible to take it home manually unplugging and pluging the alternator back in? It's only like 7 to 10 minute drive

 

Mine has done this before. Remove, clean and reattach battery terminals, ensure alternator connector is seated properly and not corroded.
