Hey , here we go again a fitment post

Hi, I’ve done a lot of research about stock rx7 with modified rims and I wanna gather the maximum of information to be sure of my choice so I’m sorry to open another post about fitment.

I got a Stock Rx7 FD from 1996 (Stock suspensions / Stock Fenders) and I contact your forum to be sure about the fitment of new wheels . I put the dimensions of wheels I want just below .

-wheels:

Te37’s

•with 18 x 9.5 + 22

-tires:

Michelin Sport 4

•235/40/18 Front

•255/40/18 Rear

If fenders need to be rolled or pulled don’t hesitate to add it to your answer if you got a doubt.

Thanks you for your answer .

Have a great day , From France 🫶

How it currently look

What I would like to have

I would run a thinner sidewall. 255/35/18 would be ideal.

The wheel you mention will fit the same as my 18x11 +45.

Which Volk also makes now in the TE-37 saga S Plus (for 5x114.3 BMW).

It requires max front negative camber, a front fender roll with slight pull and some camber in the rear or a light rear fender roll depending on tire (fits 285-315mm wide tires square).

Not only do you get more wheel and tire width for performance, but the +45 offset is only 5mm off off the stock +50 offset.
The +22 offset adds 28mm of scrub radius (offset of steering axis line through tire contact patch.)

The +22 offset will give you more trammeling and bump steer from the added 28mm scrub radius.

If you are inclined not to believe me, get the alignment on the car (max front camber) and then drive with 30mm bolt on spacers on the stock wheels/tires.

The 16" 50 series sidewall will flex and mask much more of the issues than 18" wheel and 30/35 sidewall- but you will get an idea of the feel.

In contrast the 18x11 +45 drives very well- except it can hydroplane rather easily (wide tires/light car).
