Help me get this 1990 back to life
If you disconnected the Wires to the Air Flow Meter (at the airbox/filter) then the car will just start and die.
IF you introduced "quick start" after the air box then most likely the hose is OFF to the airbox and the AFM is not seeing air at all.
In this case the car again will just start and die.

If you check to see if fuel is coming out of the return line then that could suggest that the injectors (at least primaries) are clogged.
And your primary injectors just may not be firing as opposed to being clogged. There are 4 Light Green wires grouped together at the ECU. Light Green wire and Light Green/Black wire are for the primary injectors. W/key to on the voltage should read 12 volts. W/key to start the voltage should drop to about half of that if the ECU were trying to fire these injectors.
