Thanks for the wiring diagram link . Would you have Any insight on this issue?

equipment:
120 e5000 relay
sony dsx m80
JL xd 600/6v2
JBL gx series 4" & 6.5"

Problem:1 (relay installed)
I'm trying to get antenna to go up/down when deck changes function from radio. (while remaining powered on)
Problem:2
antenna actuator powers on/off . I hear it running but no ant extension. It raised/lowered with stock stereo cd/cassette but now it just goes thru the motions but stays retracted

I tend to exhaust all efforts b4 asking for Help 👍🙄

Gabe, I see you've posted the same question in multiple locations, but still lack details...I don't think anyone can decipher what "do I wire to pos/+ lead" means, as that's extremely vague.

For starters, your antenna is not going to go up and down for only the radio source with that Sony; you only have a remote output which switches with radio power. This is a feature that overtime has been killed because modern cars don't use aerial antennas. Alpine is one of the few brands that still provides a dedicated power antenna wire which will do this.

Next, explain how you wired the relay. It sounds like you're aware that the FC uses a negative triggered antenna relay, which is not common.
I'm assuming "120 e5000 relay" is the Metra part number that Crutchfield sold you? It's just a 5-pin standard Bosch relay with a pigtail. Assuming you followed the instructions for power antenna, it is correct. All you are doing is inverting the positive trigger from your Sony radio to energize the coil of the factory power antenna relay.

It sounds like you might have a mechanical problem, not electrical problem. As an idiot-proof test simply eliminate the relay from the equation for a moment, and short the power antenna wire (vehicle side) to ground. If the antenna operates properly, you have an issue with how you wired the relay ( I doubt it). If you "hear it running" but it doesn't move up and down, then you need to repair or replace. I believe Dale Clark or someone on the forum at one time went through the pain of opening one up for repair.
