Help!!!!

soo...no lie im just trying to get 3 posts cuz i need some dire help!

i was replacing the o seals in the oil cooler of my 1985 RX7 GSL
and when i went to replace the banjo bolt into the mounting piece i noticed that the last person to try that had over tightened it and cracked the housing and ruined the bolt.
so i bought a new oil cool unit, and bolt, and sadly the bolt didnt come alread screwed into the piece. and here is my dilema

I CANT GET THE BANJO BOLT TO THREAD INTO THE PIECE RIGHT!

its the same bolt that is supposed to be there but it doesnt work
the hole for the oil is on the end closest to the head of the bolt. and the threads are at the bottom of the shaft. i believe it should be the other way, because it is opposite inside the mounting piece, the hole is farther down in the hole, and the threads are higher.

i dont know if there is some proper way to thread the bolt into the mounting piece, and i am just doing it wrong, so if anyone has some advice and can help me it would be much appreciated....i have a date tomorrow and really really really need my car back together by tonight, and i need to get this all to work by tonight.....

PLEASE HELP ME!
