Heater issue...Rigging didn't work.

86 NA base...Logicon is dying...(I will resolder, when I get my spare from storage)
I wired a fuse and switch when the blower motor went out to get AC back (on high at least)...I searched.....and followed the instructions to rig the air mix door to heat , but when I move it ..it has little to no effect on temp...
The heater core is hot, as are both hoses at the firewall.<<<<so I assume not water valve... heater breaker is also good, and the logicon still controls vent, def, floor. bi-level but no heat on any setting...it blows just not warm...any ideas??

Mine does the same thing. I'm pretty sure the linkage that actuates the door is broken, but I have so much other stuff to fix I haven't had time to look at it. I can reach beside the heater core (just reach up by the gas pedal behind the heater controls) and open and close the door. It is a hassle but it'll do until I get time to work on it.

There are two similar mechanisms down there. One is the valve allowing coolant into the heater core and the other (up higher) controls the air mix door. The coolant valve is normally connected to the air mix motor by a rod, so they move in unison. In summary, you need to disconnect the rod between the air mix motor and air mix door and move that by hand.

I did that.... Could the door be broken... The door lever moves but no heat...? That's what is confusing
