OH Head rests for 88' Convertible

I have an 88' convertable and the head rests are gone. I am not getting any sound out of the radio at all. Do I have to have the head rest speakers to complete this circuit? And the head unit doesn't keep memory of stations. I might have a bad ground or something. Anyone have an issue with this?

Check the "meter" fuse. It supplies 12V power to the radio. There are also a few radio related fuses as well which could be bad.

Will do. Weather not so good for shade tree mechanicing right now but I will. Are these headrests hard to come by. I would like to replace them if I can. If not I will go aftermarket with the stereo unit. I like the all origanal look though.

Ok so I have not been able to check the meter fuse since weather here has not been cooperative. but something that relates to this is my dome light does not light up and is not burned out, also my clock does not work and my door open lignt is constantly on. Could all this be related to that meter fuse?

So I checked all checked the fuses in the box under the dash and found the 7.5A fuse labeled "room" was removed. I put it back in and wala I had a clock and sound and memory for radio preset stations. So I start my car and pull it out into the street so my wife can park her van in the driveway. When I stopped to park the rx7 it began to idle erratically. The tack was Bouncing up and down. So I pulled the fuse back out and left it be. The car drove to work no problem this morning. PLEASE sir tell me you or someone has an idea of what is going on in my car. I did notice that someone before me has installed aftermarket speakers. Head unit is stock Pioneer with casset and CD player.
