OH Having Vert top issue

i have a 1988 vert with a top issue. the switch for the top is part of the combo switch for the wipers and hazard lights, and it has worked fine up intill recently. i cant seem to find the problem, or any tech stuff on this problem. i think the switch b urnt out but the connectors look good and theres no loose connections in the harness. for a while if i wiggled the switch just right it would work to put it down, but going up i didnt have any issues. now thats its nicer weather it has completely stopped working. any information on how to fix it (or where to find a new combo switch with the for the vert) would be very appreciated.

You should be able to order a new switch from your local Mazda dealer. It may be expensive though. I also have a 88 NA Vert and I think my headlight switch on the other side of the cluster is dying. I priced it at Mazda and it was like $300 but it is a whole new switch including the headlights, dimmer, and rear defrost.

I called the mazda dealership near me and they wanted $450. I found an 88 vert in a junkyard close to my grandfathers second house. Im gonna get that switch and hope an pray to god it works. The only problem i see is that the switch is S4 specific, and its a real trip to find the damn thing. Ill post more on it this weekend. As for your headlight switch, you should be able to use any S4 headlight switch. They are universal. I dont think there's a difference in the S5 ones. Youll have better luck with that than a vert top switch.

It was the swtch itself. Was able to find one @ a junkyard, and now my vert top works, and wipers on all functions. Best $75 i spent at junkyard
