ID has any one tried step headers on a rotary

hello:
I'm just setting here contemplating how to coax a few extra ponies out of my n/a engine. having worked on piston engines a lot, the use on incremental increase tubing headers can release a bunch of extra power by letting the exhaust gases expansion help pull air/fuel thru the chamber, during overlap of the valves, leaving a much cleaner charge in the chamber.
by utilizing the high exhaust gas temperature created by a rotary, and by changing the port timing, ( even as little as on a street port ), it would seem that by enhancing the scavenging of the exhaust system, by stepping header diam. that there should be a bunch of extra power available. has this been tried???? If not then i might give it a whirl. Thanks Leata

Myself,I can't see this Working,as the Engine has no valves.
The N/A will suffer Power loss after a 4 inch diameter exhaust.
Look at the SJD(?) header.that is about the best thing on the market right now for a N/A header..
3 inch pipe is plenty for an N/A,after that it is overkill.
Your Best bet to Squeezing power out of it(after Bolt on stuff), is by Internal modification, and that will start to "make no sense to your wallet".That is why Guys just say "fugg it" and slap on a Turbo.
