hard start post degreasing?

hey guys,I just picked up a an 87 gx with a 91 turbo swapped in (13b). it has bigger injectors, and a haltech E6x ECU. (just some back ground, not sure if you actually need to know that!) anyways, the other day i was driving and my alternator/fan belt snapped and I overheated. I shut it off and had it towed (by this time it was about 3/4's up on the temperature gauge, where normal operating temp is about 1/4. I replaced both the PS-Crank belt as well as the alternator-fan belt and everything ran smoothly. Got a jumpstart and she fired up just fine. After cleaning up the engine bay with some degreaser the Power steering warning warning beep has been sounding along with a non functional tachometer. This is intermittent as the tach will bounce on from time to time, ending the beeps. This afternoon, after driving it this morning, it wouldn't start for quite some time, after about 5 minutes of on and off cranking it fired up. after a drive it started up fine, then died when i gassed it (around 3500 rpm where boost kicks in). It then would not start again. I pulled the fuse, assuming it was flooding and again, after endless cranking it fired back up. (there is also some pretty mean backfire, sometimes at start up but mostly at higher rpm when i let of the gas)

I am assuming the problems following the degreasing are a result of a short but have no idea. any insight into this would be much appreciated,
Thank, oms.

Sounds like you got water into most of the electrical connectors, especially those around the trailing coil.
