hard to start jspec engine

Put in a jspec engine just about 2 months ago since i dropped it in i had a hard time starting it. Its gotten a little bit better but its still hard i changed my spark plugs seems nothing changed. Im going to work on my fuel filter next. Car was sitting for 2 months so maybe thats clogged. I highly doubt its the fuel pump cause i upgraded to a walbro before the jspec. Another thing is that it surges but i think it might be my throttle plates are open a little cause sometimes it stops at 1500 and holds till i tap the gas. AND when i start it seems to have some trouble getting past 2k revs seems as if the car isnt getting enough it sounds like if your rolling your tongue with an r.. i assume its just im not getting fuel

Does the car continue to run after starting or does the engine die out? If it dies out then make sure the fuel lines are not crossed as a JDM engine has its supply and return lines opposite of the USDM version. Also make sure you have your plug wires going to the proper plugs. And yes, this often happens. Also check the ECU pin for the Water Thermosensor for voltage w/key to on and w/the engine cold and then w/the engine hot. This sensor assists the car in starting properly as it decides to supply the proper amount of fuel for a given start situation be it a cold start or hot start. And if the throttle pedal response is not present then it could be cause the engine is flooded. Also make sure the TPS is set correctly via the Green/Red wire which should be set at 1 volt "fully warmed."

Was this a NA to Turbo swap? If so did you pull the wires at the ecu from the harness needed to get it to run? When I first did my swaps I completely for got about the wires needed to be pulled and it wouldn't stay running. And depending on your year of car and the engine and harness. I.E. S4 car 86-87 with Lo imp injectors and S5 engine with the hi imp injectors could be your problem if your using the harness. The jumper wires would have to be shorter or connected together. GL with finishing up you swap.

Your injector wires..Did you put them on yourself?
if so ,Switch them..
I did the same thing.
starts up,runs, tap the gas it Dies.
you can get it to go up in rpms but it is like the engine is blown, and if you keep on pumpin the gas it may run but it Backfires.
Sound Familiar?
