Gull Wing Doors
Would they be practical for everyday use? For example, would they be able to be opened in car parks, etc.?

Scissor doors are really for show only. Most of the kits are poorly made and the doors flop around in the wind and don't open up enough. The cheap kits block half of the doorway and don't offer counterbalance. The expensive kits, which cost thousands, are very well made so the door opens both up and out. The only thing you really have to watch for are low car parks and garage roofs.
Gullwings are such a more elegant solution though.
