Porting an engine requires completely rebuilding it. You'd be look at a few thousand for a full rebuild. By "Performance chips" I'm assuming you mean the eBay 2 cent resistors, which are a scam. The only real "chip" you can get is the Rtek 2.0, which will let you tune the stock ECU yourself. It's $400, plus you'll need a $2-300 wideband 02 sensor too.

Take a look in the 2nd gen tech archives. There is a "beefy NA" thread, which can give you tips. But you'll never have enough power to keep up with a 350z, unless you go turbo, or have a highly modified bridgeport or peripheral port engine.

It takes a lot of work to drop in a 3rd gen motor into a FC. What about putting a second gen turbo motor in. It would be a lot cheaper and easier. then upgrade the turbo and other parts down the line.

For the most part. Be careful though it is real hard on the drive train if you do it wrong.

i flew by a guy on a chainsaw motor on a bike redde 1st at like 8 grand shifted to 2nd and rediculously chirped 2nd it wasnt like a chirp it was a complete loss of traction for a sec.. the tires grabbed and i took off.. keep in mind i know my rear main seal is proolly shot so the clutch is prolly covered in oil...

Basicaly yeah... Its all about hitting the "powerband"when you shift, as w.sen said he lost some traction its very possible. You just need to practice and know your car... do it safe though, one of my friends killed his best friends girlfriend and turned his friend into a vegetable because he made a poor choice on where he showed off his car. Learn your car and it will amaze you...

Yeah your best bet would be to swap in a T2 engine, and I don't think you can use your NA tranny with a T2 engine

chirping means a loss of traction. that means the tires aren't giving you forward motion at that moment. ie, its slower than a good shift. i don't see why that is a goal for you guys...

This is retarded. Chirping your tires is not what you want to be trying to do. All it does is slow you down. Sure the fast cars chirp because they have the power and the torque and the gear ratio when they shift it is going to happen.

Try to go faster, not focus on making noises that make you sound fast. That is plain retarded.

You will never beat that Z in your NA rx7. It sucks, I know, and not even in the twisties if ur running stock suspension.

An REW swap unless you have the know how and do it all yourself is not worth the effort or the money versus just doing a normal turbo swap and the building that, with some good suspension mods then you can spank that z monkey.
