GSL-SE idle problem

Hi my names nick and im 21 years old, i wanted to buy a sports car and it just so happens that car was a 85 mazda rx7 gsl-se. but theres a problem. nobody really has any experience with these cars in my area. The car doesnt idle right(at standing idle) the idle goes up and down between 800-1000 and is inconsistent also seems to have a slight miss, mechanic did a a few things such as cap, rotor, plugs, wires, and and checked the tps. any ideas what it could be?and sorry if this post is in the wrong area this is my first post and im not really familiar with the sight. thanks....

Rats nest vacuum leak maybe. im kind of new at this but i have torn that model all the way down to bare bones chassis before determining the motor was shot all together. now with my new FC i have been having a similar issue. no codes nothing and it was doing it i changed all the vaccuum lines on the rats nest and it stopped until i fixed the timing. in which case it threw a TPS code which leads me to beleive i screwed up on setting the idle. so being another new guy cant say this with 100 percent accuracy but i think TPS and vacuum lines is a good place to start. check your gen specific FAQ as well many great tips in there and alot of answered questions.
